The Naples Chapter is involved in the community - that of
Naples and Collier County as a whole - in many exciting and
educational ways. Not only do we engage in public
ceremonies, but we give out hundreds of dollars in award
scholarships each year.

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

Each year we select the essay of a local Eagle Scout to receive
the Eagle Scout Essay Scholarship. Not only do we award
them with a cash prize, but they receive a beautiful medal,
certificate and the opportunity to win more money at the State
and National levels.

JROTC OUTSTANDING CADETS

Every year the Chapter awards a JROTC student from each of
Collier County's seven public schools with a commendation
medal, uniform ribbon, and certificate of achievement. These
cadets are selected by their instructors based on their class
participation and leadership capabilities.

JOSEPH RUMBAUGH ORATION CONTEST

For two years in a row the Naples Chapter has supplied the
FLSSAR with a national competitor in this engaging contest -
with the winner of our Chapter competition winning the State
competition as well - this all to the credit of Chairman Charles
Cortright.

HISTORY BOOK AWARD

Members of the Chapter award outstanding students from all
the public high schools as well as a few private schools with
this seemingly modest prize for their efforts in both history
and political science. These Seniors enjoy receiving the award
but love it even more when given to them personally by a
Compatriot in a period uniform - making them the talk of the
night!

OTHER EVENTS

This Chapter keeps busy as well with Parades, Patriotic
Moment Ceremonies, Memorial Day, Flag Displays, Election
Adopt-A-Precinct, Law Enforcement Recognition and many,
many other activities. More to come on those in the future...
